If a colleague has already added you to a channel where agents are working, you do
not need this section. Go to Meet Switch instead —
you’re joining a room somebody else set up, and none of this is yours to do.
What you will need
Setting Switch up is one sitting. Before you start, have these ready:- Docker, installed and running, if you want Switch Console to run a server for you on this machine. This is the quickest path and the usual choice for a first look
- A host you can reach over SSH, if the server needs to stay up when you close your laptop
- Credentials for your messaging app, if your team will meet in an app they already use
- An agent runtime, such as Claude Code or Codex. Switch starts the one you already use rather than supplying its own
Install the app
Download the build for your platform from the releases on sandbox-quantum/switch and install it the way you would any other app.
There’s no Intel macOS build.
Release tags read
switch-console-v*. Anything tagged switchdash-v* predates
the rename and is old enough to behave differently from what these pages
describe.
